I am a Louisville/Southern Indiana native and graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Neurobiology and minors in chemistry and psychology. I am also a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with a specialty in corrective exercise.
I have always had a passion for fitness, outdoors, and sports. I ran competitively for 4 years and transitioned to weightlifting/functional training over 8 years ago after sustaining several injuries during my running career.
This led me to open Empower Fitness-where I can help other women achieve their fitness goals while also focusing on injury prevention. My training style for clients not only includes strength training, but more often neglected training such as balance, coordination, and mobility. This allows you to not only see results but prevent injuries in the process.
I am also a mental health advocate and am a firm believer in the mind-body connection. I am open about my mental health struggles and how they've impacted my views towards fitness. Exercise is a tool meant to build you up, not a punishment to tear you down. I teach radical self-love and acceptance to my clients both in the gym and in daily life.
You can see progress without crash diets or doing grueling workouts 7 days a week. My goal is to encourage healthy mindsets in each and every one my clients so that they can lead a more sustainable and well-rounded lifestyle.
When I'm not in the gym you can find me exploring the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, swimming, boxing, painting, or spending time with my two cats and my dog.
I am from Georgetown Kentucky but have lived across the US and various countries. I enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures and languages. I returned to Kentucky and moved to Louisville in 2019.
I have always enjoyed fitness and the outdoors. I grew up as a competitive cheerleader and gymnast. As an adult have maintained fitness through weightlifting, hiking, horseback riding, yoga, Pilates and Latin dancing.
I am dedicated to helping my clients build confidence and feel good in their current bodies. My passion lies in working together to achieve their fitness goals, no matter how big or small.
